I was that child who was always off exploring the fantasy worlds in my imagination. I knew there was more to life than what we can immediately experience and as I grew and discovered non-fiction books about the power of the human mind, I started doing all the things I was reading about. My mother bought me my first Tarot deck when I was 14 and I quickly became known as the person you went to if you wanted a Tarot reading.
When I was 18, I was standing on a train platform with my then boyfriend when a woman walked up to me, handed me a copy of Pagan Dawn, and told me to “use it well.” Alas, I wasn’t ready for the reality that there was a thriving community filled with people who also had the same interests as me – at the time, I was firmly entrenched in the story that I was completely alone.
It was a few more years before I finally started to reach out and make connections with others of a similar mindset. It was a real eye opener – I made friends, found teachers, and even met the man who would become my husband!
Since then, I have been initiated into both Craft and ceremonial orders, qualified as a LifeRites celebrant (and gone on to teach the ritual components of the LifeRites course) and a chakra dance meditation teacher. I have written books about the various skills I have learned and delivered many talks, run numerous workshops and facilitated open rituals, all designed to give people the skills they need to take their personal praxis further and deeper. In addition, I have written countless articles which have been published in a number of publications, including White Dragon magazine and various anthologies, including The Faerie Queens and Howlings.
These days, I don’t need to escape into fantasy. I know there’s so much to this wonderful human experience and the possibilities are limitless when you allow yourself to connect with your true self and take aligned action to create the life you deserve. I know the magick works and I love nothing more than to support others to develop your personal praxis and follow your own path to wherever it may take you.
Everything I do is designed to empower others. You don’t have to go it alone.
And if you want to know a little about me on a personal level, I’ve been married for almost 20 years and have five children. I live in South Wales with my family and an awful lot of animals, including three dogs, two cats and a continental Giant rabbit. When I’m not writing books, teaching, facilitating or making music, I love to go on long walks with the dogs or curl up with a good book, fantasy or otherwise! I’m so grateful that I get to spend every day doing something which lights me up and follow my passions in everything I do.
One strange fact – I absolutely adore World’s Strongest Man and have been going to Giants Live events since 2016. I’ve met all my favourite strong men and if you asked me to say which one I like the best, it would be absolutely impossible because they’re all utter sweethearts!
